OPEN CALL! 10-Year Anniversary of the STE Pitching Forum
This year marks the 10th edition of the Screen Talent Europe Pitching Forum! We are thrilled to invite European filmmakers to Grimstad during the Norwegian Short Film Festival in June.
What is the Screen Talent Europe Pitching Forum?
The Pitching Forum is a collaboration between Screen Talent Europe, Mediefabrikken, and the Norwegian Short Film Festival. Filmmakers aged 22 to 32 are carefully selected to pitch their latest short film project during the Norwegian Short Film Festival. The winner will receive a production grant of 2,500 EUR!
In addition to the pitch, participants will take part in activities designed to develop their projects and provide valuable international connections. The Pitching Forum emphasizes creating a space where filmmakers can network across countries, build relationships, and initiate co-productions.
Event Details
The Norwegian Short Film Festival runs from June 11th to June 15th, while the Pitching Forum itself will take place on June 11th and 12th. The selected filmmakers will present their projects in a 4-minute pitch before a jury and an audience.
The pitch is scheduled for Thursday, June 12th, preceded by a mandatory preparation workshop on Wednesday, June 11th. Following the pitch on Thursday, all participants and festival attendees are invited to join us for a scenic boat trip along the stunning Norwegian fjords of Grimstad. The winner of the pitching contest will be officially announced later that evening as part of the festival’s official program.
If you are selected, please note that you must attend an online meeting on the morning of June 4th to review details of your participation and clarify any questions about your stay in Grimstad. Travel, accommodation, and meals from June 10th to June 13th will be fully covered by the event. Some participants may need to cover their own travel expenses—please check with your local partner regarding this.
Terms and Conditions
Participants must be affiliated with one of the Screen Talent Europe partners. A list of partners can be found on the application form and the Screen Talent Europe website.
Producers, directors, and screenwriters are eligible to apply if they have produced at least two films (short fiction or documentary).
Applicants must apply with a project in development, either fiction or documentary, with a maximum length of 20 minutes.
Participants must be available for pitching preparations on Wednesday, June 11th, and for the pitch itself on Thursday, June 12th. It is therefore advisable to plan travel to Grimstad on June 10th.
Participants must attend the online meeting on June 4th to review the details of the STE Pitching Forum.
Applicants must be between 22 and 32 years old.
The pitch will be conducted in English.
The deadline for applications is April 21st, 2025.
You will receive notification of your selection status by May 2nd. Please keep the STE Pitching Forum dates available until participant announcements are finalized.
